Shipping a large RAID array correctly can be an arduous experience.  Here are just a few tips to help yourself, and your data through the trip.

1.  If you are shipping a complete system (i.e. hard drives, controller card, and case) please leave everything in the system and use the original packaging if available.  Should the original packaging not be available, use a box much larger than the system, for instance a dishwasher box or other large appliance.

2.  If shipping solely the hard drives, please label the drive according to their position in the array.  Again use packaging which is larger than the drives.

3.  Please send all hard drives from the array.  Even if you think the disk does not work, it may be necessary for the recovery process.
